Pawnee City

We spent the weekend in PC with my husband's family celebrating his grandparents' 66th wedding anniversary.  It was a nice weekend of visiting and eating ;).
K & B Families

My FIL inspired me to capture a generational photo with
my kids' great-grandparents, Betty & Mike G.

4 Generations:
Mike & Betty G., married 66 years,
Anita & Bill K., married 41 years,
Michael & Emily K., married 13 years,
Sophia, Will, Nicholas & Alex K.
We also stayed at the Convent House Bed & Breakfast in Steinauer, NE.
This was originally the school and convent for the little town of Steinauer, but
closed down in the 1960s.  The community has refurbished it into a very
lovely Bed and Breakfast.  There is even a Divine Mercy Chapel inside the Convent House in which the parish priest says daily Mass.

Here is a picture of the outside:

Sophia took part in a McDaid XPlore musical program.  She is in the middle as a caterpillar.
Now she has emerged as a butterfly.  She did great!

Easter 2012

We spent Easter 2012 at Michael's parents' house.
It was a lovely weekend filled with beautiful weather,
good visiting and lots of good food.

Grandma K. decked out the kids for Easter.  I LOVED the
litle ties and vests.  They looked very GQ.  (Nicholas esp. in
his puple pinstripe!)  Sophia was exceptionally cute in the springy dress
and her curly hair.
Thanks Grandma & Grandpa for a great weekend.

Bowling Birthday Party

Here are pictures from Nicholas' 4th Bday Party.

We had to light the candles twice because
he was sooo excited he blew them out before
we had a chance to sing Happy Birthday.
Here is my favorite:

Nicholas' 4th Birthday

Today is Nicholas' 4th Birthday!
Born today in 2008 on my Aunt Eunice's wedding day.
(Sort of messed up my parents' plans to attend the wedding - Sorry!)

He is a sweet boy with a penchant for orneriness.
Loves to play with little action figures and run
around with the big kids.  Still loves "french fries, ketchup and
chocolate milk."  And his mother's spicey chili.

We love you Nicholas!

New Year's Resolutions

New Year's is upon us in the middle of this Christmas Season.  Every year I like to make resolutions.  I can't say I've always accomplished many of them.  But, there is always hope that I will.  What better time than the start of a new civil year  to reflect on what is working and what is not working in our lives.  I think 2011's list had some 10 items on it.  It was about 7 too many!  For 2012 I'm going to make a short, accomplishable list.

1.  Monthly Confession.
2.  Get into better physical shape by walking 3 or 4 times a week.  Start small, then increase!
3.  Lose 20 lbs over the course of the next year by counting WW points and #2 above.

So there it is.  Emily's 2012 New Year's Resolutions.  Are you making any resolutions?
