Sophia (5.875 years)
She has started TBall this summer. Last Wednesday was her first real game. She is a REAL beginner. Just learning how to field the ball and swing. They put her on 1st base right away. After about 10 batters she started getting the hang of it! It was a terribly windy night. By then end of the hour, she was sure she didn't want to play TBall again. But after the drink and the treat, she declared how much she "loved Tball!"Some of the other little girls on the team either have experienced older siblings or just over-achieving parents. More than half of these girls are outfitted with name-brand "activewear" and cleats! Mind you, they are FIVE years old!
She is eagerly planning her 6th birthday party. Maybe she gets that from me! Most of the fun is in the planning anyway. It is also hilarious how every day she changes her mind on what she wants to be when she grows up. After a visit to Morrill Hall (the mammoth exhibit), she wanted to be a dinosaur "hunter." After recycling today, she is determined to become a person that makes stuff out of junk. We'll see what tomorrow holds...
Will (3.25 years)
Will's big news right now is that he is officially potty-trained. YEAH! YEAH! He is doing a super job getting to the potty - by himself most of the time. The other day I came in from the backyard and asked Michael where Will was. If you can't hear Will or see Will, he is probably somewhere pooping in his pants. So, I started looking and calling for him. I found him in the bathroom...pooping in the potty!
When my parents were here, my Mom bought Will a little set of lego-type knights. They have itty-bitty swords, shields and helmets. He absolutely adores these little "soldier men." The most amazing thing is that we haven't lost any of the pieces yet - Will is trying though!
Nicholas (16 mo)
Nicholas' 1 year molars have finally come through. He is pretty busy just trying to keep up with Will & Sophia. You know your baby isn't a baby anymore when he tries to take his own clothes off - just like his big brother & sister.
He is extremely interested in birds right now. Loves to watch them out of the window. Reminds me of the hours that Sophia & I spent bird watching in our old house when she was probably about the same age. He likes to say ball and bird, Mom and Dad, and gives lots of other words a good try.
