Pix of mid-week vacation

Kids and I went to Lincoln for a mid-week "vacation." Michael had some meetings, so we tagged along. We visited the Capitol Building, Lincoln's Children's Museum, and Morrill Hall (AKA The University of Nebraska State Museum). We walked everywhere - even with cloudy weather - and had a good time. All in spite of Nicholas developing a fever and a touch of diarrhea (me, too!).
Some fancy doors at the Capitol Building.
Note Nicholas' cheesy smile.
At the Children's Museum, Nicholas loved the big, stuffed dog.
Will's very favorite at the Ch.Mus.: the Fire Truck. In fact, I could hardly pull him away from it, then he would run back to it! (Big potty victory: while in the tree house at the museum, Will told me that he needed to go potty and then held it until we got to the said potty! YAY!)
Evidently, Nebraska was once home to huge Mammoths as well as other BIG dinosaurs. Fossils have been found all over the State, including near where we live.
Sophia's new dream occupation: Dinosaur Bone Hunter!

This HUGE tortoise fossil was mounted high up on a wall, so for
perspective I had the kids stand against the wall with their arms up.

Best of all at Morrill Hall, we basically had the entire museum to ourselves. Can't beat that.
